How Mindfulness Can Save Your Life

Are you suffering from stress, anxiety or worry? Do you often find it difficult to sleep because your mind is always going? Is it hard for you to focus?

This is totally understandable as it is often difficult to deal with the strains of life. We all have so many responsibilities, obligations and expectations that, although may be necessary, tend to stress us out.

It is not always enough to try and force ourselves to stay positive. Emotions are difficult to control. We can't help how we feel! So if we can't help it if we are feeling stressed, nervous or unhappy, then how can we ever reach a state of calmness, sureness and ultimately happiness?

Well, one way we can do this is through the practice of mindfulness.

Watch this really insightful video to find out how mindfulness can change your life!

“Mindfulness is the energy of being aware and awake to the present moment. It is the continuous practice of touching life deeply in every moment of daily life. To be mindful is to be truly alive, present and at one with those around you and with what you are doing.”
Check out the website, http://plumvillage.org/mindfulness-practice/

In other words, mindfulness is the ability to focus. Research has found that the ability to focus also dictates our ability to control our emotional state. It has been found that people who have a greater ability to focus, and those who consciously focus are actually happier. This is because through focusing, people are able to block out emotional turbulence for the time being, which means they have more control over their emotions. They are also less likely to become depressed. On the other hand, people who day dream often and have trouble focusing are typically unhappy; they are often thinking of their feelings, past incidences, or even the future. Not being present in the moment causes people to be dissatisfied with their work, with their lives and with themselves. This is because people who lack the control to focus have trouble dealing with their emotions and lack the ability to fully control them.

Building up the ability to focus is like building your brain muscles. It takes a little bit of work. Now, I am not saying that focusing means not wandering off with your thought and feelings, because this is inevitable. But really strengthening this ability means being able to bring yourself back; bring your attention back from your day dream or your worries, bring your attention back from what happened last night. Bring your attention back to the present moment. This is building your ability to focus.  Really focusing and being mindful of the present moment can lead to a happier and more fulfilled life.

One of the easiest and greatest gifts we can give our loved ones is our attention, and attention is also one of the greatest gifts we can give ourselves. We all seek attention, so it is also up to us to give it. Not only this, but giving our full attention to even the little things uplifts our state of being; we become more grateful and appreciative of the people in our lives and of the life around us, and we are more attentive to our work and thus achieve more.

So many people in this world just want to be fulfilled and happy… Practicing the art of mindfulness is definitely an important step in this journey!!

How to Live Life to the Fullest

Many of us are concerned with living life to the fullest. So we go out and party, we try new things and go on adventures! However for some of us, life is not always that exciting. Sometimes we may not have the time to do all of these things yet; sometimes we may temporarily not have the funds, we may always be working, we may be tired a lot of the time, or maybe some of us just like chilling at home. Our lives aren’t always like the lives of these celebrities who are portrayed in the media, and their lives aren’t as full as they may seem either. With that being said, as a society many of us view our lives as mediocre compared to others, especially celebrities, and this often makes us unhappy and disappointed.

Many of us want happiness and “the good life,” which is why we always strive for more and for what we don’t yet have. This is what makes our country great!! Nonetheless, this constant longing and striving to have more and do more can be detrimental.

Now I know you are like, “Hold up, what the heck this chick is talking about!?”
Well, watch this video for an explanation!!

In order to live life to the fullest, your mind and your thoughts need to be here in the present moment. It is wonderful to strive for more; this is what makes us great as people. But in your pursuit it is essential to focus on the good that is present more than the good that isn’t yet present; focus on the positive more than the negative. How do you do this? By acknowledging what you have and expressing your gratitude. Gratitude is the key to happiness and success. Feeling good causes you to attract good into your life.

You may not have everything that you want yet today in your life but you can still be grateful and happy for what you do have. Gratitude is the key to fulfillment and to living life to the fullest; it is the key to life.

What are your thoughts!?

Why Failure is Necessary

Many of us are afraid of failure. Why is this so? Maybe this stems from our schooling or our upbringing. From a young age we have been taught that failure is unacceptable. If we did not do well on a test in school, we were looked down upon. If we did not know the answer in class, or if we got the wrong answer in class, we were laughed at or made to feel embarrassed. Kids in school who get the best grades and make the least mistakes are praised by teachers, parents, and society; they are expected to excel in life, while C students are expected to live a life of mediocrity. In our school systems and in our society, failure is not accepted.

This mindset is a dream killer. If you long to start your own business or to try something different today with this mentality, you will not reach your goals.

Instead of viewing failure as negative, you should view failure as positive and necessary. You should not be afraid to fail because it is impossible to be successful without failing. In fact, failure is the key to success.

I get it though. It is scary to put yourself out there to potentially fail in front of a lot of people or even just in front of yourself. A lot of people are handicapped by fear, but we cannot let failure cripple us. The reality is if we don’t fail then we don’t succeed! So many people don’t act because they are scared. But an essential component of becoming successful in all that we do is by operating outside of our comfort zones. All successful people operate out of their comfort zones. They act in spite of their fears.

Failure is making progress towards your dreams. We learn from failure. Failure teaches us lessons that we need in order to excel. The important part is to not let failure keep us down; we need to get back up and bounce back!! Even more so, failure equals progress because action is being taken. If you let fear stop you, then no action is being taken, making it impossible to move towards success.

So the next question is… “How do I cope with the fear of failure?”

Well, as my mentors have always explained to me, if you can change your mind, you can change your world. A lot of people fear failure, and thus refuse to act because they are afraid of how it will make them feel. Remember, we as human beings like to do what makes us feel good. So, how can we make ourselves see failure in a more positive light? How can we feel good about failure? We  must shift our paradigms. Instead of thinking of failure in a negative way, we must look at it in a positive light, for failure will bring us closer to achieving our dreams!! More importantly, if we do not want to fail because we don’t want to feel a certain way, what this really is, is us being scared of something that is totally under our control. We control how we think and we control how we feel.

People often beat themselves up when they don’t meet their expectations, but what you should do is treat yourself with love, care and compassion; you should have your own back! So it is up to you whether you respond negatively or positively to failure. You choose how you feel!

Conquer your fears and go out and fail until you succeed!

Show me your Friends and I'll Show You Your Future

Are you struggling to reach greater success in your life? Or do you feel like you lack the motivation or the encouragement to achieve your greatest goals? If so, then you should reevaluate your relationships. Are your relationships helping you and pushing you towards your goal or simply to be a better person? Or do you feel like some of your relationships are holding you back?

Well let me tell you this now, BEWARE OF DREAM STEALERS, LEECHES, ENERGY SUCKERS AND NEGATIVE PEOPLE!!!

Watch this video to learn why!

My mentor has always shared with me that you are a product of who you hang around with. If you hang out with 5 negative friends, then you will ultimately be the 6th negative person. On the contrary, if you surround yourself with 5 positive friends or influences you will be the 6th positive person. Same goes for success… if you long to be successful, you have to surround yourself around like-minded people; you need to spend a lot of time with people who are already successful. Why? Because what better and easier way to reach success than by learning from those who have already achieved it? Additionally it is important to be surrounded by like-minded people who will support you and push you towards your goals.

Your relationships will ultimately define your outcome in whatever you do. If you want to be a millionaire, you need to build million dollar relationships. If you want to simply be happy, then you need to spend time around happy people. It’s simple.  And yet so many of us constantly surround ourselves around people who downplay our successes and criticize our goals, dreams and aspirations.

I warn you, stay clear of these people!!

These people suck the life and energy out of you. If you are around people like this, you should limit your time with them and start finding ways to get around people who think like you and already have what you want.

Now I am not saying that you should cut all ties with these toxic people. Some of these people are those you really care about and who also care about you; like your parents or siblings for example, or even your best friend. These people are likely a big part of your life, so it is not necessarily imperative or healthy to cut off all ties. What I am saying, however, is to limit your time with these people. My mentor is always fond of saying, “I can spend a couple of hours with them, but not 24 hours; I can spend a day with them but not two days; I can spend a week with them, but not a month, etc.” It is important to be around your friends and your family, but if they are toxic for you, it is equally important to be around people who inspire you and motivate you.

More often than not we have to fight for what we want, and an essential way is to build and sustain relationships that are appropriate to our goals, ambitions and well-being, while also protecting ourselves from negative environments. So find ways to network. You can do so by attending various networking events and seminars that you can find online!! You can also watch motivational videos online and read motivational blogs like this one! This is time well spent with both people and tools that will inspire you towards achieving your goals!

Now remember, Napoleon Hill, author of Think and Grow Rich, said, “what the mind can conceive and believe, the mind can achieve,” now you just have to find others who also believe in themselves and who believe in you!

You can do it!! Let's go!!!!

Using Newton's 3rd Law to Get the Results You Want

  • Newton’s Law of Motion: For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.
  • Karma: What goes around comes back around.
  • Swami Vivekananda: “We reap what we sow. We are the makers of our own fate. The wind is blowing; those vessels whose sails are unfurled catch it, and go forward on their way, but those which have their sails furled do not catch the wind. Is that the fault of the wind?....... We make our own destiny.”

Here are three findings that, although said in different ways, have the same meaning. This is why we must spread love, generosity and life in what we think, say and do instead of spreading hate, greed and death. If you love others, you will be loved in return; if you hate others, you will be hated in return. If you give unsparingly to others, you will be rich; If you are selfish and take from others, you will be unfulfilled. If you speak life unto others, you will have lived a great life; if you influence death unto others, along with them you will die, too.

It all comes down to our thoughts, our feelings and our words. If you watched the video, there are specific representations of this subject: the boy represents us as humans, how we throw the ball to the ground represents our feelings, the actual action of the ball being thrown represents our actions, the response of the ground represents our world and how the ball comes back to us represents our results. For example, if you think about throwing the ball hard, you’ll get a pang of adrenaline and then you’ll throw the ball hard to the ground; when the ball hits the ground, the earth will respond by throwing the ball back to you just as hard.

More specifically, having certain thoughts elicits certain feelings, and these feelings influence our actions, and our actions influence the results we have in our lives. A negative thought ultimately leads to negative results. If I spread negativity into the world, then I am going to experience the same negativity. Likewise, if I think, feel and act with negativity, I will also attract negativity. The same goes for positivity. So, if you have been unable to create the positive results or outcomes in your business, in your relationships or in your life, then check your feelings and then check your thoughts that provoke these feelings. If you are aware of how you think, you can change yourself and change your results for the better.

However, even when we are aware of how we think about things, sometimes it is difficult to change our thoughts. This is where the power of words comes into play. We have the ability to speak things into existence. Have you ever heard that life and death is in the tongue? Well this is true! Speak and generate positivity into the world and it will come back to you!  If you do this emphatically, and if you do this daily throughout your day, your thoughts will begin to change towards the positive, and so will your feelings, your actions and your results.

If you are struggling to lead the life you love, it is still possible to turn your results around!
Your results are a direct reflection of your thoughts. Change your thoughts, and you can change your life. :-)

Abraham Hicks ~ Practice the vibration of what you want - by ignoring it

Gratitude --> Success

Being content and happy goes a long way. Many of us have big dreams, goals and aspirations to fulfill. We have many desires that we focus on and continually think about. That is just how we are as people and as entrepreneurs. However, you must take caution in what you think about and how you think about things. It has been said that you become and you get what you think about most… so if you always think about success, if you always think about your goals and aspirations, then in some way and some day through your efforts they will manifest. As an entrepreneur you must always hold onto your vision, which should fuel your actions. This is very, very true.
However, a lot of the times when we think about our goals and desires we get discouraged, we may feel anxiety or we may feel outright negative because we haven’t achieved them yet. This feeling of negativity will negate your success. Remember that what you think dictates how you feel and how you feel dictates your actions, which dictates your results. So if you have a negative feeling about what you want but don’t have, then you may never acquire these desires. It is great to take action, but if your thoughts and your feelings are not in a positive place about what you want, then you may never achieve what you want.
So, the question then is, how do we stay positive when focusing on our desires? The answer is, don’t always focus on your desires. Focus on what you do have that makes you happy. So many of us when we think about or write our goals and desires focus on what we don’t have, and we never focus on what we do have. This leads to dangerous territory because this leads you out of the state of gratitude. Gratitude is the most important state to be in, in life. Gratitude leads to happiness, and with gratitude, you will receive positive outcomes. So for everything that you desire, you should think of something that you desire that you already have. For example, in the future I want my own family, but I also am so thankful for the friends and family I have today; I desire a great and loving relationship with my friends and with my parents, and I have this!! With gratitude you operate on a higher and more positive frequency, and that is what you attract.
We attract who and what we are, which is determined by how we think. So in order to attract what we desire, we must acknowledge and be thankful for what we already have. We must operate in a state of gratitude and happiness. Because good only comes to those who are good, and people are only good if they foster positive thoughts, feelings and actions. Now when you add love and passion for what you do, you will be unstoppable, for to be in a state of love, passion and gratitude is the ultimate human experience that brightens our existence. Try it.
Instead of fretting about what you don’t have, appreciate what you do have. Operate in a state of happiness and gratitude and see how far you get in achieving your desires!

"Risk Being Seen In All of Your Glory"

This was such an amazing and empowering speech!

Don’t choose your pathway out of fear! Choose your pathway out of faith, belief and love! As Jim Carrey states, “Risk being seen in all of your glory,” do not sell yourself short or try to dim your dreams or ambitions from the world. Napolean Hill author of Think and Grow Rich said it best, “Whatever the mind can conceive and believe the mind can achieve.” So dare to dream big because you are powerful. You are the creator of your life and well-being; it is all in your mindset. Remember that where the focus goes energy flows, and that all of the empires of the world were first created in the minds of men. If you have a vision and steadfastly focus on that vision, and thus act with enduring vigor and passion, you can achieve anything you want in this lifetime. The resources you need to succeed are already in existence, you just have to recognize them and find a way to utilize them. It is the lack of knowledge and awareness that compels man to believe that it is not possible that he can achieve greatness. It is always possible!
